Business Development Manager Software – DT84

Innovative IT  company seeks Business Development Manager. Sell a unique Project Management Software Solution to medium to large enterprises.

What the person must be able to do:

This role requires the ability to sell to medium to large enterprises. The company has developed a unique software solution. As such this person must be able to understand sales of software and system solutions. A background in Project Management will be highly advantageous for this role.

  • Identify and target new customers
  • Cold calling and networking to generate new leads
  • Leverage existing network to gain new business
  • Identify key decision makers in new Accounts
  • Develop consultative relationships with key decision makers (Know you, like you, trust you)
  • Qualify sales opportunities (Determine if the customer is going to buy)
  • Progress sales opportunities to close
  • Presentation of Sales Solution
  • Proposal writing and pricing
  • Address customer objections to solutions
  • Pricing and contract negotiation
  • Understand the customer’s strategy and align sales opportunities to the strategy
  • Strategic and thought leadership presentations
  • Achieve and over-achieve sales targets
  • Report on sales opportunities
  • Sales forecasting

Key Job Deliverables:

  • Attainment of sales targets
  • New customer acquisitions
  • Accurate sales forecasting and reporting
  • Create and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction

Background work experience

  • 3+ years experience in selling to Medium to Large enterprises, of which:
    • At least 2 years in Software Solution sales
  • Technology background and passion – Advantageous
  • Strongly advantageous: Existing relationships in IT environment must include relationships with divisional heads
  • Strongly advantageous: Existing relationships with business decision makers, executives and strategy heads who are tasked with executing strategic projects

Reports to: Managing Director

Location: Newlands, Pretoria


Basic: R 20K-R25K per month (dependent on experience and proven track record)

On Target: R 40K to R 50K per month

Maximum Earnings: No salary cap
