Top plastic packaging manufacturer seeks a Factory Engineer. Oversee the production and engineering functions of the factory.

What the person must be able to do:

This role is in the South African plastics packaging sector. All duties would take place in this context.

The person must be capable of the following:

• Production
  • Achieving production efficiencies of 80+%
  • Optimising shift times
  • Optimising machine usage
  • Optimising Production Process
  • Production reporting
• Maintenance
  • Ensuring maximal machine uptime
  • Proactive maintenance scheduling
  • SLA management with vendors
  • Maintenance Budgeting
  • Maintenance reporting
  • Occupational Health and Safety
  • Housekeeping rules
• Customer Service
  • Regularly visit customers to ensure satisfaction
  • Address quality issues

  • Creating a positive work climate

Key Job Deliverables (First 6-12 Months):

• General engineering function of plastic packaging plant
• Maintenance practices audited and improvements implemented
• Plant efficiency of at least 85%

Background work experience

• 5+ years experience in the plastic production environment
• 2+ years experience in a management role
• BSc in Mechanical  or Electrical Engineering
• ECSA professional registration advantageous
• Proven track record in plant maintenance (we will check references)
• Strong interpersonal skills and team player

Location: Johannesburg South

Salary: Market Related. In the Range of R55K to R70K per month dependent on experience and proven track record. More senior candidate with exceptional experience may also apply.
